why is the amount and frequency with which you can obtain tomestones/badges/whatever mmo pre-raid currency limited then?

until abyssea (which was like 8 years after ffxi came out), ffxi endgame(and leveling tbh) gear was permanently relevant. there was a level 33 neckpiece that was in the game since launch afaik that was frequently recognized as one of the best items in the game for basically any physical job.
k club, hauby, scorp harness, elemental/cure staves, ridill, osode, etc. etc.
good shit stayed good for years and years. new shit came out that did other good shit w/o making old shit obsolete. it was rad.
