Because if Kirby goes out to pick a fight with a wounded (but not anywhere near dead, maybe like, 20-30% injured?) Gael, Vivi and Haurchefant with sniping support...I think Estinien arrives to a dead-ass team (or one close enough to dead that the Dragonshadow Dive finishes them off, as its aoe can friendly fire). At which point, the match is kind of arguable.
