YT losing the suit would just make any sites allowing user-generated content worse for everyone. If sites themselves are legally responsible for anything their users upload then that forces sites to either moderate with an iron fist or shut down altogether

Bullshit. It's called a terms of use. YouTube actively allows extremists to not only post videos but also monetize them. Furthermore, YouTube's algorithm (which THEY created) promotes these videos.

YouTube has no issue removing monetization from videos that contain a swear word within the first 60 seconds. This proves that they also shouldn't have any issue removing monetization from extremist content or disinformation, and yet they don't act on that.
