wolfy42 05/03/23 2:59:29 PM #4: | I worked alot of jobs between the age of 11 and 15 in california including washing dishes for Little Ceasars and working at a hot dog stand at Great America. That is how I fed myself. I worked other jobs before that age (Camp Mendicino in CA through the boys club let you work there to stay for the whole summer, worked there 3 summers before 11 at an archery range, rifle range and in the cafeteria (best one we got extra food). Child labor is def wrong, but sometimes you need a way to feed yourself. My brother got put in the system at 9 (I was 11) which freed me up from taking care of him (which I had done since I was 2). That was when I could start working jobs that actually paid enough for me to eat regularly etc. Certainly shouldn't be having kids work, but you need to have a system in place that makes sure they get freaking fed if they can't work. At least I had school lunches, which before 11 was often the only food I got. I heard recently they are trying to get rid of those as well. --- Tacobot 3000 "Saving the world from not having tacos."
