I don't think it's crazy to think that scum votes or pushes scum buddies early thinking they won't actually be lynched yet. He doesn't even have to have a fully developed plan with his fake claim at that point yet. Throwing shade at you because people historically have a tough time reading you is pretty easy to throw out early and push later.
