I intentionally didn't push it one way or the other, but even if the politics board was "only liberals and right-wing trolls", as often characterized, then it objectively helps them more because the only right-wingers there were just trolls anyways save for like 2.

And stifling the dissenting opinion while also stifling your own's side still helps quell the counternarrative from existing. That in itself is a boon because the mainstream media already boosts the right-wing narrative for free.

And assuming that Fandom are right-winged as you say they are, that ideology absolutely stifles and hurts its own side like all the time, because they know the people with that ideology won't blame them and will somehow make liberals or immigrants responsible for the loss of their voice.

As for the second part, it's the first time I've been one that had it and took it away. Obviously there are sites where no Politics board exists, I just assume they never had one if I don't know the site's history well.
