Topic	Is it wrong of me to go buy an AC for my pregnant sister behind my mothers back?

If you're really appalled at your mom's treatment of your sister, you could take her in yourself, or you could talk to your mom directly about it, or you could offer to help pay to cover the AC if money is an issue. Buying something behind her back that you know she doesn't want in her house, even if it's for a good cause, doesn't actually fix the problem. Is this the best way to handle this?
