Didn't know I was required to be on stand by 24/7 for everybody's replies. I'll reply at the pace of when I want to do so. Not like it's gonna matter anyway because they'll keep spamming variations of their 'but our board didn't suck it was the evil republicans and nazis and blah blah blah!' narrative anyway.

There was often useful discussion about current political events among longtime users. People were pretty on the ball about posting news, to the point you could get a pretty good overview of anything happening politically by skimming the board. There were a few knowledgeable posters who had interesting insights. You could gather some info you might not have otherwise from people more dedicated (or obsessive, whatever) to following politics.

Good enough for you?

Okay, now here's the thing - let's pretend there this group of noble intellectuals having all these little insightful conversations on 261

What exactly was the ratio of them compared to the constant trolling, dogpiling, and just general shitty behavior from the rest of the board?

And if it's all just this big misunderstanding, how come others since 261's closing have also come forward on this board and also said 'yeah that was a pretty bad place'?

If the board truly was a quality place to be, its reputation should be able to speak for itself. But the only people who seem to be claiming it wasn't a bad place are the diehard 261 regulars who are trying to paint it in a positive light now that the board is gone. And 261 has always been regarded by people outside of that refuse to be a negative place.
