The IX remake rumor is almost certainly true but we've known about it since the big Nvidia leak which was like two years ago at this point. Haven't seen anything yet to make me think the X rumor is true, though.

IX remake is a great idea in the current environment if they do a classical turn-based approach with it since that would give us a major Final Fantasy entry of all the notable styles - IX for turn-based, 7R for hybrid and XVI for action heavy. Considering IX's original position as a "return to roots" game it would be the perfect game to do in that style, too. Honestly not sure what a X remake would really provide unless they were to significantly retool its gameplay which would only make people made, I'm sure.
