It seems unlikely to be to come out in the middle of their VII project, but it'd be day 1 purchases for me so I'd love to me wrong lol

I'll take a 10 remake. It does have the second best minigame in the series after Triple Triad in Blitzball.

But maybe if they make it so you can do anything on defense in a remake it could be fun.

Can you avoid the opponent ever having the ball? It's been a while since I played it but if the answer is yes, then it's not a good thing either.

In other news, the guy who leaked the X remake also said that Rebirth will diverge from the original by quite a lot. Over a couple posts, he said "kiss the original story completely goodbye" and "50% of the game is a new direction if I had to guess". Also playable Zack for a big part of it.

All I need out of Remake is more Yuffie and Cid screen time.

No way do we get to the point where Cid was the party leader in part 2. Even if we do get past end of Disc 1, there's no chance it goes past the first visit to the Northern Crater.

Of course maybe things changed or Nomura was lying, but yeah. I could buy the 3rd game being a very different direction, or alternatively the end of Rebirth veering off like Remake's did, but 50%, I don't buy it.

Hell we've already seen like half the locations we expect them to go in the point-A-to-point-B adventure that makes up the post-Midgar part of Disc 1. I'm sure Costa Del Sol and Gold Saucer (w/ Cait Sith playable footage) following w/ the next trailer.

The IX remake rumor is almost certainly true but we've known about it since the big Nvidia leak which was like two years ago at this point. Haven't seen anything yet to make me think the X rumor is true, though.

Didn't the Nvidia leak also say we were getting a Chrono Cross remake? That turned out to be a remaster.

But if the ones we havent seen are the 4 most important story beat ones, and the most likely to change everything around (Gold Saucer, present Nebelheim and reactor, City, and Temple of the Ancients.

I googled "Chrono Cross Nvidia leak" and all the results I saw from 2021 called it a remaster.

I dont believe any major character will permanently die in FF7R, aside from maybe the villains. The first game went out of its way to show that none of Avalanche died (Im confident Jesse and Wedge survived because of how their deaths were handled), that no one died in the plate collapse, and the Turks are conflicted and their hands are clean of blood. The only person who dies in that entire game is President Shinra.
