You could always unlock everything through play, but the grind was insane if you didn't pay (like, MMO players would blush the numbers were so unreasonable) so I'd need to see how they changed things on that front to say anything. Otherwise the racing was kind of garbo and unbalanced. They got rid of what made the OG fun and by and large this was just a letdown for fans of the original.
