You want some tension in your Pokemon song? That first 14 seconds is possibly the most overbearing intro to a battle song I've ever heard. I fucking know shit's about to go down when I start a gym master battle in this game. It still gives me the tingles 25 years later, listening to this track. I have to say it again: I cannot believe we're still outside the top 3 with this. I still don't like AAI as a game, and maybe because of that, this song has singlehandedly warped my thoughts about some of its cases. I know in my heart that E-3 isn't the best case in the game, but just the memory of watching Lance break through his handcuffs and start bawling his eyes out as this song comes on is such a powerful moment to me that no other case in that game can match. ----- 4. Super CO Power https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X0tYjVw1SpE Man, it's really hard to find just the original version of this anymore, so I had to go with the extended version. The Reboot Camp version isn't bad, per se, but it's been completely ruined by the fact that it still plays the 6-second long CO Power jingle before it, which throws off the timing. AW2 music is lowkey finely tuned and polished to near perfection. The feeling of popping that Super CO Power and having that intro of the song play as the letters fly across the screen into the name of the power with the metallic noises is just chef kiss. The reboot doesn't even remotely instill that feeling anymore, which is honestly my biggest gripe with the game.
