Just misses out on top spot because the central premise is narrowly weaker, but it was a close call. Seanchan - Ive a soft spot for good, catchy pop punk, and thats precisely what The Black Parade is. Theres some dark themes here about death but for me its the sing-song choruses of Dead!, Welcome to the Black Parade, and I Dont Love You that stick with me. Its not a flawless album, as the front half is stronger than the back, but the highs here are damn great. ~~~ Songs of the Cycle: 10 votes for 5 tracks from 4 rankers
