I looked it up on YT and didn't get anything. Do you mean it just happened minutes ago?
That's speedrunning in its truest form though. You're the guy for a while and then a new strat shows up and someone quickly beats you by one second.
Not up yet on YT, you'll have to go to his twitch channel (which I linked the specific video of in the previous post). He just got it a few hours ago, so very recent.

What does carpetless mean? Ive beat SM64 several times but its been a while.
I'll try to give a deeper explanation for you fam.

In Super Mario 64, there's a star called "The Big House in the Sky." From playing SM64, you may remember this as the star you have to ride the flying carpet for a long time to get on top of a random castle-looking building in Rainbow Ride. In speedrunning, this represents an auto-scroller basically, as in, runners can't speed up the carpet, and therefore, can't do any action of their own to make it that much faster, beyond getting to the carpet as fast as possible.

There's a trick, which involves multiple glitchy wallkicks off the big house, that can get you on top of it without using the carpet. If you pull off this trick with minimal delays, it can save up to a minute over having to use the carpet. For a game like Super Mario 64, where a trick that saves 1 second in the speedrun is considered big news, even in 120-star (which is essentially the 100% category of the game), a one-minute timesave has completely broken the possibilities for times that can be achieved.
