then he was really hot in AEW for a little bit but then ultimately he started floundering in the mid card again in AEW. I would say this is where you missed something. He was one of AEW's top acts the entire time, and the hottest in the first 6 months. it was obviously a mistake to rule himself out of the AEW title picture - in fact, I'd contend it's the reason the AEW title started to feel like not the most important thing on the show, because Cody was and he wasn't going for the title.
