It's slow enough you don't need to completely focus on it while you hang out with your buds and drink, and is occasionally fast enough it's always a topic you guys can jump to. The Super Bowl takes this, and then adds this whole additional level of spectacle to it with commercials and the half time show etc... that makes it feel like a can't-miss event, even if you don't care about Football otherwise. ...
