I don't know that we have international data, but there's zero reason to think FF16 is some evergreen title overseas while its sales dropped off a cliff (even by typical week 1 to week 2 standards) in Japan Best case scenario, FF16 sold about the same as SMRPG. They can spin it however they want, but I bet that makes the higher ups at Square Enix feel pretty dumb. Particularly if they're changing their game design philosophy now, as this topic suggests ...
