Its vaguely similar to Skyrim. The MC is actually his own character, which is so so much better.

The missions can often be tackled in a larger variety of ways. Like, hypothetically you need an item. You can pickpocket it. Sneak in the dead of night into someones room to steal it. Beat the fuck out of someone to just take it. Beat the fuck out of whoever requires it instead of giving it to them. Convince someone to give it to you. Or just buy it. Not all of these types of options are always possible, but there's a pretty large amount of choices available. Sometimes even failing will point you towards other quests that will push the story forward in a different way. Other times it does just devolve into do this a certain way and you're railroaded. It's a nice mix imo
