Why are religious people against IVF? -- IVF requires fertilizing multiple eggs with sperm, and producing dozens of embryos (which officially count as children in the eyes of evangelicals). Afterwards, doctors implant 1-4 embryos into the uterus and hope that one of them attach. -- The leftover embryos are frozen and stored, either in the parent's freezer, or at the clinic. -- If none of them attach, then they defrost a batch of embryos and try again. -- At some point those embryos get discarded if the parents don't need to implant any more children.
