Off topic, but why does Ubisoft games get a lot of hate, but praise this game which does a lot of things that Ubisoft games do?

There's nothing wrong with the basic open world design but ubisoft puts zero effort into it. They developed a formula 15 years ago and have barely budged on it. Their writing across all games has been terrible for years, their games don't push visuals or physics, they haven't modernized in any way and just put bells and whistles on their old design. I thought the soft reboot with origins would be neat but they ran that into the ground real quick. And when open world games are all your company does across half a dozen franchise you've gotta differentiate them.

Sony's MO the past two gens seems mostly to be "take ubisoft games from 7/10s to 8/10s" which is solid enough.
