You made an all encompassing topic about television being low rent, then post preview clip of a show that is not even out yet. Its not far out to think at some point in this show, at least two actors will have been on set together. the bachelor and the voice aren't narrative fiction like fallout or succession or last of us. so i don't think that is a good comparison really. not sure why it being a preview clip has to do with anything. amazon literally chose it to be the first scene released to get people hyped up and it looks awful. very confusing. disturbing even. I don't think television is a low-rent medium. But it's longer form nature does often mean that cinematography can often take a back seat compared to film, where there are fewer shots and more time to work on them. i'm condemning the entire medium based on this and other examples. also "it's longer form nature does often mean that cinematography can often take a back seat compared to film" - i would argue that the vast majority of television pretends it is not a visual medium and puts next to no effort in visual storytelling or language. instead it just likes to capture actors saying dialogue in medium close up. this defeats the purpose of even capturing it on camera. you could just write a book or play and have it be more effective.
