That's a sad story. I can see why you personally wouldn't like it. I also grew up in a household like that. But we only ate steak a couple times a year, and I loved it. I then tried a few medium steaks in resteraunts later in life and couldn't even finish them, they tasted so bad to me. I then tried some at home, well done, and they were just as a good as I remembered. I have since ordered a few well done at resteraunts, and they're just fine.
