To be fair, he's only ever really been typecast by Hollywood as a samurai. Which is still a badass role to be typecast as, but yes, it's great to see that the dude is getting the recognition he deserves. If you haven't already, watch the behond the scenes stuff of this show. I didn't realize how deeply involved Sanada was in the entire shebang until I watched it.
