Gen V (Absolutely terrible. Kyurem is one of the worst Pokemon of all time, and everything else is a generic monotype that didn't need to be. I like Beartic, but come ON with this shit.)

Gen III (Spheal and cute and Regice is cool as far as the Regis go, but Snorunt, Glalie and Sealeo aren't worth it, and Walrein has the same problem as a lot of Gen I's Water/Ice-types in that it doesn't feel like an Ice-type so much as a Water-type.)

Gen II (I like Swinub and Sneasel...but they evolve into something better. And I don't hate Smoochum...but Delibird and Piloswine aren't great.)

Gen VI (Amaura/Aurorus being amazing single-handedly drag Gen VI this high...but it's still not great. Bergmite/Avalugg have the same problem as pretty much all of Gen V, and Mega Glalie just makes one of the worst Megas.)

Gen VIII (I can't believe we got the biggest roster of Ice-types in Gen VIII and it still manages to be mediocre. Mr. Rime is fine. Darmanitan is fine (Darumaka is NOT). Frosmoth is solid (Snom is just a funny design and nothing else.) But then Eiscue and the fossils are lame, and Hisuian Avalugg is the WORST regional form we've seen since the concept's introduction. And Glastrier pales in comparison to Spectrier.)

Gen IX (This is fine. Cetoddle/Cetitan are decent for monotypes, and the Baxcalibur line, Chien-Pao and Iron Bundle are okay. But this just doesn't hit any real HIGHS for me.)

Gen I (It has some stuff I really like (Dewgong/Articuno), some stuff I think is overrated (Cloyster/Lapras), and something overhated but not great (Jynx). But this is such a bizarre generation because 60% of the field is mixed with Water-types and their Ice-halves aren't really what they stand out for.)

Gen VII (There really isn't a dud in the bunch, but it's hard to give full praise when 80% of the field is just regional forms of already great Pokemon. I love Alolan Ninetales...but this is just Ninetales again, who is already great. Crabominable, while good to have as a Fighting-type...it's one of the worst Fighting/??? type combos to me.

Gen IV (Going into today, I immediately assumed my vote would be going to Gen IV. Weavile/Glaceon/Mamoswine are all top fifty Pokemon, Froslass and Abomasnow's lines are unique type combos that make them stand out even if they're not high favorites...and I forgot about Rotom Frost as well. There's not a dud in the bunch with this group.)
