I don't particularly see Halal slaughtering as more cruel than slaughtering in general. The "suffers more" is just nit picking. So a cow bleeds to death over 30 seconds instead getting killed first by a kinetic rod and then drained of blood. Big deal. If you have that much of a problem with it you probably shouldn't be eating meat.
i'm not a person that cares about halal/kosher rules. and an isolated case of an animal suffering during the butchering process won't make me make any kind of decisions. but if you told me a butcher normally let their animals suffer, then i would try to avoid them.
