On topic, I agree with the observation that it's very underrated. Not as much of a parody as the first installment, IMO. There's some interesting social commentary about the direction of some trends at the time, as you point out.

I also think the basketball scene at the Coliseum was very cool.

Plus, Pam *fucking* Grier is in it.
