I've been on a huge Ayreon kick recently. Arjen Lucassen writes these rock/metal operas, then gets his friends to perform them. If you ever get the chance, listen to The Human Equation.

I think this album may be a little too on the nose, as it were. After a day of talking to myself and the representations of my feelings, I take a break to try listening to something different... which has someone talking to themself and representations of their feelings.

Like, I not mad at it, but this is feeling like meta commentary on my existence and giving me a headache. I'll finish listening to it some other day because this is bending my mind in ways that... aren't exactly painful, but feels like something that I shouldn't be approaching at this exact moment. It's just weird; it's somehow so incredibly relevant that I'm a bit scared of it, like it might contain some deep personal relevations that I'm not prepared to face. But it's also not even remotely similar, like none of his personifications have animal traits or names related to pop culture

Luce=Tecnically short for Luceid from Wild ARMs, though I generally distance myself from the association these days.

So, part way through the third song and I seem to be more broken than usual. Which is probably good? But weird. And I think I'm just gonna set this album aside for a while.

In lighter topics, I never really thought about his speaking voice. That's pretty neat!
