-there was someone named Jesus of Nazareth in that time period -he was baptized by John the Baptist -he was crucified by the Romans/Pilate There's virtually nothing else known or noted as being remarkable between his birth and death. In all likely hood, the plot of The Life as Brian is more or less what happened.
