and it seems like he wasn't really that funny. Just really grouchy. That was the schtick for some of his later performances, yeah. Even in his earlier stuff, some of the jokes are simply on him being crass. But, he's got an above average vocabulary and a decent understanding of the english language. If this (NSFW: Language) clip doesn't tickle something, maybe Carlin isn't for you.
