Yes. I bartended in a rough part of a huge city for seven years and have seen some shit. The worst place I worked at had, frankly, straight up gangs coming in on the weekend to unwind and chill. The grab the bottle, throw $100 on the floor type night. Two dudes started fighting, I thought I played it cool and got inbetween but it was actual beef and one drew on me to back the fuck up.

I was a complete moron then and immediately after, as I placed my right hand on my pocket to instinctively use my phone? I guess? Idk, I blanked and freaked out internally. But I was so stone faced to them, they thought it was about to go down but luckily some of the other dudes intervened.

I still think about how a braindead muscle memory reflex almost cost me my life.
