3 DS was p good but too grindy. There were actually a number of things I liked about it more than 5:

- The classes overall seemed better. 5 had a number that I struggled through mastering just so I could get the ability.

- Gimmick dungeons. Only one that comes to mind is the one where everyone has to be a mage so they can shrink down small enough to fit inside. Maybe that was the only one--I don't really remember. It's the kind of stuff 4 was made of. And I loved 4.

- Refia. I dunno if it was just me but her animations and facial expressions were just adorable.

- Better freaking villain. Everything about X-Death was stupid. You could argue he was at least there the whole time, but it doesn't matter if every time you see him you wish you didn't.

- Atmosphere. To be fair, the pastels of 5 did kind of grow on me. But it just couldn't compete with 3's overall atmosphere for me. Especially when it came to the lost world and its music.

- Story. That one Galuf scene did positively blow my mind, so hats off to that. But the world building in 3 was intriguing as hell and I have always wanted a prequel where you play as the Warriors of Darkness.

But as I mentioned before, the grindiness hurt it a lot.
Can't believe they called a main villain Exdeath
