As for the original BanG Dream anime.

S1, I went into with pretty low expectations but I found out it to be pretty solid. I like the band formation story, but it is pretty hampered by its derpy animation. Sometimes the characters look straight-up dead on the inside. Season 1 also brings in the significance about the hints Raana drops in MyGO regarding who she's related to. It's not really something you would pick up on unless you follow the franchise.

S2, here they expect the audience to play the game since all the other bands come in with only a small introduction. However, there are really only 3 bands you need to give much attention to and they are Poppin' Party, Roselia, and Raise A Suilen (and RAS doesn't even get formed in this season). Of the original 3 seasons, this is probably my favorite. I loved seeing all the bands interact in an animated way. That said it is bogged down by a pretty awful plot point and it's the one that Roba is referring to, but however bad I thought it was, it didn't break the season for me.

S3.....puts a lot of focus on who's quite possibly my least favorite character in the whole franchise (and that's even taking MyGO and Ave Mujica into account). It's still fine for the most part, and I really like the ending sequence of it, but it's my least favorite season of the anime.

All that said, MyGO is still my favorite out of the BanG Dream anime. As dramatic as it is, at least none of it really bothered me, which is something I can't say about the original anime.
