Cause in a mafia sense its not alignment indicative but beyond that I couldn't comment. he is definitely Pierce, as he says. Pierce is not explicitly tied to being town, as Chevy Chase the actor basically said racist slurs on set and got kicked off the show, resulting in the character leaving the study group and eventually getting written out entirely (and dying).
