That was honestly the biggest thing that kept me from bothering with hell mode. I didn't start the game with it on because I rarely start games on whatever "hard mode" is, and once I was in a position where I wanted more challenges I couldn't be bothered starting a new file when I could just crank up the heat instead. And then I got bored of the game before really getting into it, so hell mode never happened. I'm generally a huge fan of Hades' difficulty system, but hell mode stands out as being needlessly cumbersome to activate. --- This is my signature.
