I'm not super far into it, but I'm really enjoying the story aspects. The characterization feels great, honestly. That said, I do get where people may be upset, since this is supposed to be "officially" part of the Arkham universe, but I guess my mind kinda separates it, anyway. When it comes to just this game itself, the story/characterization/etc. is very fun.

I feel like they legitimately had something great, here, and WB went "Okay, but live service this shit." And that's very sad.

Well that doesn't surprise me really even their weakest game Arkham Knight was still a pretty damn solid game that suffered from bugs on release. The other Arkham games were incredibly good and combined damn good gameplay with a solid story.

WB had a literal golden goose with Rocksteady and instead of letting them make their own games or maybe moving onto other DC heroes or villains they were like fuck it make a live service game. Shit if they would have made Superman or Flash game with the same level of care as the Arkham games it would have likely blown up the same way the recent Spider-Man games did.
