The proper terminology, and how I explain it to people, is "he was found liable by a jury for rape". If they try to "bu-bu-but it wasn't rape, it was sexual assault!", as Trump's campaign and sycophants' used to do, I bring up how the judge explicitly stated that everyone understands from the facts that it was rape, legally it could only be sexually assault due to the law's outlining of what is and isn't rape.
