I think the mainline series is about due for a clunker. Where after the bad reception, Capcom realizes they need to go back to the franchise's linear survival horror roots and not try anything like open world again for the time being. But then again, open world survival horror could work. It did with Evil Within 2. Though I'm not that enthused with the concept. I wish the main cast, especially Leon and Chris, would just go away or die from a bioweapon. Also does every mainline have to take place the same year the game's release? Is that really necessary?
