If you want the dark truth, its because most of them don't interact with the real world consistently. However, its not just attributed to gamers in particular. Its more attributed to people who don't interact (or very little) with today's society. Many of them develop paranoid fears of the outside world which leads those to search for groups who share their views. Many of these people become like this due to sever trauma, sheltering, or abuse and this is their way of dealing with the harshness of reality. Im not stating any of this is a justification for their views however.
