I never tracked topics until these ones, however I find it way better than just tagging as when you go to your notification and it says "22 new messages in x thread", it takes you to the first of those 22 posts, meaning you don't have to scroll and hunt through the thread to find where you left off. I've found it super useful. Just FYI, you don't have to scroll to find where you left off in your AMP. If you click the blue dot on the topic in your AMP it will take you to the top of the newest posts right where you last read.
