I think people want this technology to fail because Elons name is behind it, but the technology itself is something that can accomplish great things and he has nothing to do with building it It isn't an issue of the guy behind it, it's an issue of if it's actually ready yet. Neuralink has faced criticisms of cutting significant corners in order to try and get their product out first (because they aren't actually the leaders in this field) which creates very legitimate safety concerns for a technology that has such a significant impact on a person.
