If the side quests in NNK 2 has been relevant to the story, even on a local level I'd say it would have been GOAT side questing on a ludo narrative level. Instead we got "hey I need you to collect 5 bugs" repeated 100 times. It's also why the Side Quests in FF16 were so bad apart from the last handful before the last story quests. The rewards were passable in that you got extra crafting resources or upgrades to your healing in some regard or another but the quests themselves were just boring. --- "People demand freedom of speech as compensation for the freedom of thought which they seldom use."
