People don't like when someone is publicly being blatantly discriminatory, so we're gonna get a lot more support for this kind of stuff instead. Up until Trump does something like turning the military on protesters or some ** and it becomes actively dangerous to stand against the GOP, there will be an increase in support for the groups under attack. It doesn't generally work in general elections, because despite them bragging about it, many people seem(ed) to think that the stuff Trump was running on wouldn't actually happen.
