JeffreyRaze 12/30/24 6:52:30 PM #43: | For a few that haven't been mentioned yet, Sundered, Wizard of Legend, and Astrea are pretty good. Sundered is a very hack and slash roguelite, with a massive emphasis on horde combat. You're going to be swarmed heavily. The rooms are randomly generated within a fixed map structure. Has a nice elder god corruption setting to it, but there's not a huge amount of variety in enemy types. I liked it a lot, and movement is so slick on the corrupted route, but it's not for everyone. Wizard of Legend is a smaller game, short runs with a nice variety of spells and builds. This isn't one that's going to be game of the year or anything, but it's very cozy. Pretty fast paced, so it's got a learning curve to it. Astrea Six Sided Oracles is a deckbuilding game but with dice instead of cards. There's lots of ways to manipulate the result, and there's fittingly enough six characters who each play pretty differently. One of the interesting mechanics is that you can use your damage to heal yourself, and if you roll badly you have to choose between damaging yourself or healing the enemy, which buffs them if they heal too much. --- JeffRaze, for all your random spellcasting needs ...
