No one is asking Obama to make a scene. We're asking him to not be making jokes and laughing with the guy. It's not hard. I saw people I didn't want to interact with at my MIL's funeral. I gave a respectful head nod and left it at that.

Obama the first black president of the United States attending a publicized funeral of a former president....., and yourself attending a funderal do not even remotely compare.

Obama was drawn the short straw and had to sit next to Trump. He decided to play nice at a funeral, and you twist that into a narrative of indifference with Trump? There's nothing to gain for Obama to make some skeptical or snub or complete ignoring of Trump given he had to sit next to him in a televised funeral of a former president, especially given who Obama is.

The pearl clutching is to be expected on right wing channels like Fox. Tan suits, "a terrorist salute", eating ice cream. Par for the course.
But then we have our own side that joins hands with right wing media and Republicans to bend over backwards to pearl clutching along with them with purity bs.
