Eh, if you've gotten to the first major town just after the tutorial you should have been introduced to the idea of 'Totems' at your camp. One of the Totems has a paladin flair to it, providing boosts of fire damage and strength from healing. You'll also quickly be offered a group heal from the main story. I don't think it was a mace, but there it also a unique weapon outside of the town that has Paladin style enchantments; something like health restored from defeating enemies alongside a second effect.
