Thinking about it, if you only need one copy of Mario Kart to play with a few friends online and can pass the virtual game card around a family group as desired, that does help to offset the extra cost. It's still worse than buying a single copy at $60 and being able to play with four people locally, but it's a lot better than all four people needing to buy their own $60 copies, so I guess that's a plus.

$80 is still pricey, though. Gotta love global trade being totally upended because reasons.
I gotta look into the digital sharing thing more, but you're saying once you do, the same game can be played at the same time, by different people on different consoles? And there's no limit to how many shares you can do?

And while I agree re: global trade, tbf, there's no reason the *digital* version should cost $20 more than current game costs.
