Liberal party wins a minority
Conservatives very close behind
Not all that close. 169 seats for the Liberals, 144 for the Conservatives.

What's crazy is that Carleton (PP's riding) is a full-out conservative stronghold. It's a huge flip for the liberals and is like, the 2nd or 3rd time ever that area hasn't voted conservative. That's how much of a loser PP was.
IIRC, the last time a Liberal won Carleton was in 1963. PP himself had won the riding 7 times over the last 21 years.

Given what a safe seat he was in and still managed to lose, if the Conservatives force some backbencher to resign so that PP can run for their seat in the by-election, it would be very possible (and hilarious) for him to lose again.
