That's exactly why. Generally speaking I've noticed that a lot of mid to low budget US dubs are simply not very good quality nowadays. There's a lot of reasons for that I suspect, ranging from market monopolization by Texas and somewhat in LA through to talent simply not being very good nowadays, but the result is a lot of the dubs have a very "samey" and "you're listening to actors act" quality.

The same goes for localization, most mid and low budget titles coming from Japan use a very American blueprint and it's to their detriment more than anything else (and criticizing that blueprint even got wrapped up in "culture war" garbage too making the situation even worse).

It's all in a bit of a monopoly trap and at the detriment of quality nowadays. The industry could potentially benefit from a shakeup, we've seen the quality of talent is there outside America (and even in parts of America that have been shut out by the Texas and LA monopoly), this could force that monopoly apart.

Now I'll be fair I don't necessarily want all of it to leave NA, monopolies are bad as I've just been saying, but silver linings and all that. And speaking as an Australian with a British heritage (meaning a lot of exposure to the cultural products of my Motherland) I've always found it very strange Britain was shut out entirely from the localization industry, especially given how truly rich and deep their talent pool actually is.
Ah that's totally fair. It is very rare to get UK and Austrailian talent in video games in general. It does exist but it's few and far between and usually if it does happen it's because the developer wants a specific actor or actors from those regions in their project but it usually never goes beyond that.

Heck I sometimes wish I could hear some of the old Canadian talent in video games and anime for that matter. That's also gotten rare which is a shame because a lot of my favorite VAs from back in the day came from Canada

I don't want all of the Texas and LA talent pushed out because some my favorite VAs also come from those areas but we definitely need some more variety
