but no cranky (and even diddy and dixie) show up so

Yeah, I'm kinda wondering about what the story's gonna be like. I feel like something's up, but then again I don't think Nintendo ever really cared about lore and continuity in the Mario/DK universe so maybe the whole thing's a giant retcon. It would mean Cranky would no longer be the Kong who kidnapped Pauline and the Kongs age a lot slower than humans. It's absolutely going to explain why Pauline's the mayor of a Donkey Kong-centric city in Odyssey, though.
