when in reality the vast majority of rural voters are not dissimilar to the person in this article.

that view and trying to win them back based on that is a waste of time that could be better spent elsewhere

So people that think they can be convinced to change their minds with logic and reason are the ones talking down to them rather than someone who says they're too stupid to ever understand and it's hopeless? That's a spin.
